Shannon McKinney, Attorney at Law
Before embarking on a career in the law, Shannon McKinney graduated cum laude from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and obtained work as a social worker for the Division of Family Services’ Family Support Division. During this time, she encountered many families confronted with difficult emotional and financial situations and in need of Medicare and public assistance. While helping people through these difficult times, Shannon began to realize that she could make more tangible difference in the lives of these children and their families by pursuing a career in the law.
By 2002, Shannon had graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree and had earned her license to begin practicing law in Missouri. She was hired by a local law firm to handle issues of family law and juvenile defense.
